Arsenal's manager feels assured that his team can keep managing with injury setbacks after revealing that star striker Kai Havertz is not ready for a few more weeks.

Extended Absence for Havertz

The German forward has been out for months due to an operation on his knee. Hoped to be available at the start of this month, Arteta explained the player faced a hurdle when increasing his training and failed to reach “the required stage.”

“Our experience helped us build a team that is much more reliable and has greater depth,” Arteta said.

Selection Dilemma for Brentford Clash

This update presents a tactical puzzle for Wednesday’s home game against Brentford. “History has shown us that we have to use players in alternative spots, and they have to be able to adapt to new tasks if we are to fight at the top. And the example of Mikel Merino.”

Commenting on the complication highlighted by Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann, Arteta offered more insight. “His recovery was progressing. He failed to advance to the required step and now it’s looking like we have solved that issue.”

Arteta expressed his keenness to have him back. “We’re all desperate to have him. Honestly, it’s a player that, in my view, I admire greatly for the qualities he offers to the team, but his character, his nature. I see him suffer on the sidelines.”
